In this role, you will be working 100% in community-based settings, supporting a small group using person-centered approaches, advocacy, and empowerment strategies for full engagement in their community of choice.

The pay range for this position is $18.00-$25.00 per hour, with a hiring bonus of $1,500.

We have several locations available in San Diego County and North County, including Chula Vista, Mira Mesa, Poway, and Vista.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide culturally appropriate direct support to individuals using person-centered approaches and strategies.
  • Support and motivate individuals to reach their goals and objectives.
  • Engage and facilitate meaningful activities that cater to the individual's interests, preferences, and choices.
  • Assist with daily living skills, including grooming, hygiene, toileting, feeding, and mobility.
  • Provide medications as necessary.
  • Proactively identify and facilitate job, training, volunteer, or other community activities for program participants.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Valid CA Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Immediate access to a vehicle with working seatbelts to transport participants.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
  • High comfort in using multiple computer/mobile device programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge relating to the rights and support services for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more months of prior hands-on experience with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
  • Multi-lingual (English, Spanish, Tagalog).
  • Experience with electronic case management systems (Therap).
  • Experience with individual service plans (goal development).
