POSITION SUMMARY
Overview of Role

Oversees and executes high-level engineering and project management tasks across various functional domains, which may encompass: pipeline system evaluation and planning, operational management of gathering systems; measurement of gas and liquids, gas analysis, and design of measurement stations; processing and storage facility management; and/or estimating, designing, and coordinating construction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and/or execute engineering and project management tasks related to the design, procurement, construction, or optimization of company assets, including but not limited to:
    • Transmission and gathering systems, measurement and regulation facilities, compressor and pump stations, and dehydration facilities
    • NGL fractionation, natural gas processing, and hydrocarbon storage facilities
    • Construction planning and execution
    • Management of external contract resources
  • Provide technical and engineering support on various matters, including but not limited to:
    • Equipment/system design
    • Pipeline sizing and assessment
    • Pipeline control mechanisms
    • Design, construction, operation, and maintenance of pipeline facilities
    • Policies and procedures adherence
    • Process safety management
  • Conduct and review project management activities, including but not limited to:
    • Bid proposals and contractual agreements
    • AFE preparation and budget management
    • Management of Change (MOC)
    • Specifications and selection of materials/equipment
    • Support for construction plans
    • Creation and updates of schedules/timelines
    • Preparation of project progress reports and other documentation
    • Management of change orders
  • Identify equipment efficiencies, perform hydraulic calculations, determine valve and pipeline sizing, and conduct gas flow analyses.
  • Research, analyze, prepare, and/or approve information including but not limited to:
    • Engineering studies
    • Regulatory compliance, codes, and standards
    • Pipeline and measurement system evaluations and recommendations
    • Hydrocarbon processing and measurement bid proposals
    • Construction and measurement contracts
    • Cost estimations
    • Material specifications and selections
  • Recommend enhancements related to capacity, operational costs, and system functionality.
  • Evaluate proposed projects through load studies.
  • Analyze various measurement system designs and suggest improvements for capacity and operational efficiency, enhancing accuracy in measurement systems and downstream reporting.
  • Conduct economic analyses for potential new projects, including operational cost estimates, equipment efficiency determinations, and necessary enhancements, along with definitive studies for potential acquisitions.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and develop and implement new processes as directed by management, with minimal supervision.
  • Anticipate shifts in work demands and identify training or assignments to address those needs.
  • Oversee the effective use of manpower and equipment resources.
  • Assess, schedule, and prioritize projects based on customer requirements and organizational value.
  • May supervise employees involved in field operations, construction, and project management functions.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline, along with relevant job experience preferred.
Experience Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering design and criteria for natural gas and/or NGLs in pipeline systems.
  • Typically requires seven or more years of experience in engineering, operations, and/or project management.
  • Proven ability to achieve objectives and develop team strengths, demonstrating a positive influence that fosters success for employees, projects, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with applications such as Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, etc.
  • Experience in researching and preparing project materials, design specifications, contracts, budgets, engineering studies, and other relevant documentation.
  • Proficient in identifying, researching, understanding, evaluating, and prioritizing operational challenges and coordinating appropriate responses.
  • Knowledge of pipelines or hydrocarbon processing and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of material failure, structural analysis, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Comprehension of operational functions and commercial relationships, with the ability to foresee functional and transactional impacts.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, load studies, and other relevant documents.
  • Capacity to analyze and resolve engineering design and calculation issues, seeking assistance when necessary for complex designs.
  • Competence in reviewing intricate engineering drawings and materials.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with competing deadlines.
  • Skill in identifying, planning, and organizing projects to completion, meeting goals and initiatives.
  • Ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Proficiency in applying mathematical, algebraic, and statistical methods.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and advisory skills.
  • Ability to operate required office tools and equipment.
  • Skill in articulating thoughts, ideas, and information in a clear, organized, and coherent manner, including technical material.

Physical Demands and Requirements
  • Sedentary Work - Involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Primarily involves sitting, with occasional walking or standing.

  • Employee works in well-lit, climate-controlled settings.
Travel Requirements
  • Travel to various locations may be necessary.
Driving Requirements
  • May require a company vehicle, necessitating a valid driver's license based on assigned tasks.
