Position Overview

The Vice President of Logistics Operations is responsible for overseeing all operational and strategic initiatives for designated locations through effective collaboration with site leaders, internal stakeholders, and key client representatives.

This role serves as a critical link between the organization and its clients, managing intricate customer relationships while analyzing and identifying value-added services that align customer requirements with solution-oriented selling.

The incumbent will drive long-term strategies for customer locations to achieve optimal operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness while enhancing internal profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase revenue through expanded scope and improved margins via operational efficiencies with existing clients.
  • Establish strong relationships with key client contacts by actively listening and thoroughly understanding their environment and market differentiation.
  • Develop, maintain, and assess customer profiles with a strong emphasis on proactively identifying business challenges, opportunities, critical information flow, competitive landscape, management review processes, and contract compliance.
  • Present comprehensive proposals and tailored customer-specific solutions that are scalable and align with industry best practices.
  • Lead the implementation of corporate programs and manage all site change management initiatives.
  • Review tactical aspects of business profiles, indexes, KPI results, and other metrics to promote additional solutions and drive operational enhancements.
  • Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to inform decisions and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Coach and develop personnel in logistics operations, focusing on training, leadership, project management, and operational systems.
  • Implement corrective action plans and ensure accountability from site leadership and team members.
  • Establish metrics that positively influence safety, quality, and financial performance.
Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required; an M.B.A. is preferred.

10+ years of expertise in supply chain management is essential; prior experience with regulatory frameworks such as ISO, FDA, DEA, FTZ, or EPA is preferred for certain sites.

Preferred qualifications include Lean Six Sigma and/or Supply Chain certifications or training.

Comprehensive understanding of supply chain strategies, including dedicated transportation.

Exceptional customer relationship management skills, with the ability to balance and manage client expectations while aligning with corporate objectives.

Strong problem-solving capabilities, along with planning, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong interpersonal influence.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and demonstrate flexibility.

Proficient in cost control and growth management.

Proactive approach to employee relations matters.

Thorough knowledge of financial practices and accounting principles.

Capability to establish policies and procedures.

Proven leadership skills, utilizing a collaborative team approach.

Travel Requirements

This position may require travel of approximately 25% or less. While a passport is not mandatory, it is recommended.
