Position Overview

The Vice President of Logistics Operations is responsible for overseeing all operational and strategic initiatives for designated locations through effective collaboration with site leaders, internal stakeholders, and essential client representatives. This role serves as a critical link between the organization and its clients, managing intricate customer relationships while analyzing and pinpointing value-added services that align with customer requirements through solution-oriented selling. The position is pivotal in driving long-term strategies for customer sites to achieve optimal operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness while enhancing internal profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase revenue through expanded scope and improved margins by enhancing operational efficiencies with current customers.
  2. Establish and nurture strong relationships with key customer contacts by actively listening and thoroughly understanding their environment and market positioning.
  3. Develop, maintain, and assess customer profiles with a strong emphasis on proactively identifying business challenges, opportunities, critical information flow, competitive landscape, management review processes, and contract adherence.
  4. Present comprehensive proposals and tailored customer-specific solutions that are scalable and aligned with industry best practices.
  5. Lead the implementation of company initiatives and manage all site change management efforts effectively.
  6. Review tactical elements of business profiles, indexes, KPI outcomes, and other data to promote additional solutions and drive operational enhancements.
  7. Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to inform decisions and enhance operational efficiency.
  8. Mentor and develop personnel within logistics operations, focusing on training, leadership, project management, and operational systems.
  9. Implement corrective action plans and ensure accountability from site teams and leadership members.
  10. Establish metrics that positively influence safety, quality, and financial performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in supply chain management is essential; prior exposure to regulatory frameworks such as ISO, FDA, DEA, FTZ, or EPA is advantageous.
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or Supply Chain certification or training is preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of supply chain strategies, including dedicated transportation.
  • Exceptional customer relationship management skills, with the ability to balance customer expectations with corporate objectives.
  • Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in professional communication, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to influence and engage with others effectively.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and flexibility in approach.
  • Solid understanding of cost control and growth management.
  • Proactive in addressing employee relations matters.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial practices and accounting principles.
