We are currently looking for a skilled individual who has demonstrated proficiency in performing transit and medical device sterile barrier assessments. This pivotal role involves acting as a primary contact for client support while gaining extensive knowledge to provide training and evaluations for Associate and Test Engineer I positions, as well as managing specialized projects. The ideal candidate will also work towards a deeper understanding of complex testing requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Test Engineers in executing package evaluations for clients.
  • Conduct intricate client testing that necessitates a comprehensive understanding of testing standards established by ISTA and ASTM, along with customer specifications and the WESTPAK Quality Management System.
  • Analyze data to identify discrepancies, offer insights to clients, and interpret results for Tier One Clients or during client-present testing. Provide actionable recommendations for packaging improvements based on testing outcomes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Transit Testing and MedLab Testing, supporting production teams and technicians.
  • Act as a designated trainer and mentor, delivering practical training to enhance proficiency using knowledge of ASTM, ISTA standards, customer protocols, and the WESTPAK QMS.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality in documentation, standard operating procedures, and auditing processes.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding testing services, including updates on test status, results interpretation, and suggestions for enhancements.
  • Design special packaging projects and fixtures as required to facilitate client testing.
  • Uphold WESTPAK's 5S and various site standards and expectations.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Packaging, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in packaging, product testing, or a related industry.
  • 3-5 years of laboratory experience preferred, particularly in product/packaging testing.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as protocols and industry specifications (ASTM, ISTA).
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • Advanced math skills, including algebra, statistical analysis, and geometry.
