Key Responsibilities:


The Staff RN is directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, and indirectly to the House Supervisor.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing both direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative environment through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for patients across all age groups.

The Registered Nurse collaborates with the surgeon and anesthesiologist to coordinate patient care, while also directing and guiding the OR Technician and other personnel, ensuring adherence to professional nursing standards.

Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure a continuum of care and to maintain quality patient care, efficient patient flow, and organization within the unit. Responsible for compliance with regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Actively participates in Performance Improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and in-service training. Serves as a resource for other personnel as needed.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and must maintain.
  • Current ACLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and must maintain.
  • Current PALS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire and must maintain.
  • Minimum of one year of previous perioperative experience or on-the-job training.
  • Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN) preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

The exact starting compensation will be determined at the time of hiring, taking into account various factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
