ResponsibilitiesThe Registered Nurse is directly accountable to the OR Charge Nurse and the Director of Surgical Services, with indirect accountability to the House Supervisor. This role involves delivering both direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative environment, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups, from neonates to older adults.
The Registered Nurse will coordinate patient care with the surgical team, including surgeons and anesthesiologists, while guiding the OR Technician and other staff members to uphold professional nursing standards. Collaboration with various departments is essential to ensure a seamless continuum of care, efficient patient flow, and organized unit maintenance.
Key responsibilities include adherence to regulatory standards, hospital policies, and participation in Performance Improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and training sessions. The Registered Nurse will also serve as a resource for colleagues as needed.
QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
1. Valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and ongoing maintenance.
3. ACLS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
4. PALS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained.
5. Minimum of one year of previous perioperative experience or equivalent on-the-job training.
6. CNOR Certification (AORN) preferred.
7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Shasta Regional Medical Center offers competitive compensation, with the current salary range for this position being $54.23. Benefits may vary based on collective bargaining agreements and employment status. The exact starting compensation will be determined during the hiring process, considering various factors such as skills, experience, education, and licensure.
