Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Master Center for Addiction Medicine. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Our comprehensive approach to addiction treatment involves medical treatment, education, psychiatry, professional counseling, testing/monitoring, and peer support services. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve lifelong recovery.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical assisting, with experience in bloodwork and injections preferred. You will be responsible for creating healthy interpersonal interactions with patients, performing new patient intakes, reviewing medical history, and documenting vital signs and breathalyzer results.

Additional responsibilities include communicating with medical providers, working with recovery coaches and external labs to facilitate lab and bloodwork requests, and providing support to our Norfolk and Hampton locations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional patient care and support
  • Perform new patient intakes and review medical history
  • Document vital signs and breathalyzer results
  • Communicate with medical providers and recovery coaches
  • Facilitate lab and bloodwork requests
  • Provide support to Norfolk and Hampton locations
  • Act as liaison, advocate, and coordinator for patients receiving services

Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Certification or graduation from accredited program
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
  • Experience with bloodwork and injections preferred
  • Experience providing direct patient care
  • Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant highly preferred

COVID-19 Considerations:

All Master Center Employees are required to be fully vaccinated (all recommended doses). Anyone with a qualifying reason not to get vaccinated must submit weekly PCR testing. To keep patients and employees safe, we have implemented measures per CDC guidelines and state requirements, including wearing masks, social distancing, limiting capacity, and providing some services via telehealth.
