Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a Project Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our esteemed team. This role will involve supporting senior geotechnical engineers and project managers in the planning and execution of subsurface explorations and conducting analyses for various projects including transportation, facilities, and water resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead geotechnical analysis and design for various projects, including shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, and slope stability.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, documentation, and construction drawings.
  • Assist in planning subsurface explorations and laboratory testing.
  • Provide oversight during the construction phase of projects.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
  • Act as the lead geotechnical engineer for assigned projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in North Carolina or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • Minimum of 5 years of geotechnical experience with a focus on design and development of deliverables.
  • Familiarity with NCDOT roadway and bridge subsurface inventory reports is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Microstation.
  • Experience in slope stability analysis and foundation design.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical software such as gINT, APile, LPile, GRLWEAP, and Slope/W is essential.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Field experience in construction observation for relevant projects is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
