Delta Oaks Group is in search of a qualified professional to undertake a variety of geotechnical engineering functions.
This role encompasses a range of technical assessments and project management support services pertinent to the field of geotechnical engineering.
The ideal candidate will possess four (4) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in geotechnical or comparable engineering disciplines. Proficiency in deep and shallow foundation design, laboratory soil testing, and the preparation of technical documentation with minimal oversight is essential.Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of senior engineering personnel, the successful candidate will be expected to leverage strong analytical capabilities in geotechnical engineering across diverse sectors, including commercial and telecommunications.
Primary duties will include:
- Collaborating with geotechnical drilling subcontractors to facilitate the field components of geotechnical investigations.
- Conducting soil and rock classifications and laboratory analyses to support geotechnical evaluations across various sectors.
- Executing field resistivity tests; monitoring and inspecting foundation installations and modifications; performing hand auger and dynamic cone penetrometer tests; and documenting soil profiles as needed.
- Carrying out geotechnical calculations to assess the capacity of existing foundations or to inform the design of new foundation systems, pavements, and earth retention structures.
- Engaging with related disciplines, both internally and externally, during the analysis and report preparation stages.
- Preparing and compiling reports and supporting documentation for all technical evaluations.
- Managing individual workloads to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Coordinating and overseeing subcontracted drilling operations, private utility locating, and other facets of geotechnical investigations.
Given the nature and tight deadlines of many projects, the selected candidate should demonstrate a strong work ethic and interpersonal skills necessary for thriving in a dynamic environment where effective communication with colleagues and strategic partners is crucial.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, is required.
Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software such as Shaft and gINT is advantageous.
Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD) is beneficial.
Knowledge of slope stability software like STABL Suite, Geoslope, or equivalent is a plus.

A Bachelor of Science in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required; a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Professional Qualifications:
EI registration is mandatory; PE registration is preferred.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of four (4) to seven (7) years of engineering experience in geotechnical engineering or related fields, particularly in deep and shallow foundations.
Occasional travel, less than 10%, may be necessary for project meetings and field investigations.
