Job Summary

The Commercial Finance Business Partner will play a key role in supporting the company's commercial initiatives and collaborating with various functions across DS Smith. This position will provide financial analysis to support regional initiatives and ensure the successful execution of commercial strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting
    • Generate monthly sales and profitability reports for senior leadership, operations, and sales units.
  • Ad Hoc Support
    • Provide support to site management teams and sales teams as needed.
  • Customer Classification
    • Coordinate with sales directors to review and classify customers based on their business value.
  • Market Analysis
    • Work closely with marketing to classify customer data monthly in FBA categories and align with group reporting.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting
    • Prepare monthly sales and margin reconciliations against the company's book of records.
  • Pricing Adjustments
    • Coordinate pricing adjustments for paper indexation and PPI across business units and sales directors.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience
    • 2+ years of experience in commercial, analytics, and/or project management.
  • Qualifications
    • Experience working in a multi-site, multi-national manufacturing organization is desirable.
    • Commercial contracts and indexation expertise is required.
    • Proven business partnering and leadership skills are essential.
    • SAP/Kiwi/Hyperion expertise is desirable.
  • Core Competencies
    • Strong commercial acumen and ability to interpret large amounts of data.
    • Advanced Microsoft skills, particularly in Excel.
