Overview:

Ascend Recruiting Partners is looking for a part-time Corporate Finance Analyst to join our innovative and expanding team. The role of the Corporate Finance Analyst is crucial in supporting the firm's M&A and corporate finance advisory services. Candidates with prior experience in boutique investment banking or related sectors such as commercial lending, corporate finance, or public accounting are highly desirable.

As a Corporate Finance Analyst, you will actively participate in all stages of the transaction process, taking on significant responsibilities within deal teams. You will lead the creation and development of initial pitch materials and comprehensive M&A memorandums. Additionally, you will ensure the accuracy and reliability of valuation analyses and merger and acquisition models.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline; an MBA is a plus.
  • Strong academic credentials in finance, accounting, economics, or general business.
  • Relevant business experience or substantial internships in an analytical capacity are preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting, and economics principles.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling are essential.
  • Exceptional written communication and analytical skills.
  • Independent thinker with resourceful problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong work ethic, superior organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and proficient time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting thorough business due diligence on potential clients or acquisition targets.
  • Developing normalized financial models using historical and projected data, analyzing variances, and identifying key value drivers.
  • Performing valuation analyses of private entities and business segments, including precedent transaction and comparable public company methods, as well as Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) and Leveraged Buyout (LBO) approaches.
  • Preparing and analyzing historical and projected financial data, including modeling assessments.
  • Researching and compiling target buyer lists using various databases to create effective marketing campaigns aligned with client criteria.
  • Generating quarterly M&A update reports and white papers for distribution.
