Emergency Veterinary Technician - Team Leader

Veterinary Technician (RVT) / Experienced Veterinary Assistant

We are in search of a dedicated, skilled, and enthusiastic Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to become a vital part of our close-knit team.

Who We Are Looking For:

The ideal candidate will possess a positive demeanor, effective communication skills, and thrive in a fast-paced team environment. You should be adept at multitasking and have a comprehensive skill set and knowledge base. Previous leadership experience is preferred. As a 24-hour emergency facility, flexibility to work outside the standard weekday hours is essential. A minimum of two years of experience in an emergency veterinary setting is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentoring and guiding emergency support staff
  • Onboarding and training new and existing team members
  • Assisting the management team in implementing standard operating procedures for emergency support staff
  • Collaborating with management in daily operations and planning
  • Maintaining open communication with management and assisting with staff oversight
  • Providing nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
  • Utilizing in-house laboratory equipment for accurate results
  • Safely performing digital radiography
  • Calculating drug dosages accurately
  • Administering medications via all prescribed routes: PO, SC, IM, IV
  • Proficient in catheterization (venous, urinary)
  • Developing advanced emergency skills
  • Comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine
  • Effectively communicating with clients and providing care
