We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team at PETS Referral Center, a growing Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Hospital located in Berkeley.
About the RoleThis part-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment, providing excellent patient care and client service. As a Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for assisting Veterinarians and other staff members, restraining animals safely, and providing nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients.
Responsibilities- Assist Veterinarians and other staff members in providing patient care
- Restraining animals safely using stress-free handling techniques
- Work collaboratively and positively with all coworkers
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
- Successfully use all in-house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
- Safely and effectively take digital radiographs
- Calculate drug dosages and administer medications via all prescribed routes
- Proficiency with catheterization (venous, urinary)
- Possess or develop advanced emergency skills
- Comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine
- Effectively care for and communicate with clients

RequirementsWe prefer someone with at least one year of experience working as a technician in a veterinary hospital. You should have a positive personality, be capable of effective communication, enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment, and have a well-rounded skill set and solid knowledge base.
