Job Title: Emergency Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team at PETS Referral Center, a growing Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Hospital located in Berkeley.

About the Role:

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and client service in a fast-paced team environment. Your duties will include assisting Veterinarians and other staff members, restraining animals safely, working collaboratively with coworkers, and providing nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Veterinarians and other staff members in providing medical care to patients
  • Restraining animals safely using stress-free handling techniques
  • Work collaboratively and positively with all coworkers to provide excellent patient care and client service
  • Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients and medical care to outpatients
  • Successfully use all in-house laboratory equipment to provide accurate results
  • Safely and effectively take digital radiographs
  • Calculate drug dosages and administer medications via all prescribed routes
  • Proficiency with catheterization (venous, urinary)
  • Possess or develop advanced emergency skills and be comfortable with all aspects of emergency medicine
  • Effectively care for and communicate with clients
