Physician (Gastroenterology Specialist)

This position is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Physician to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Gastroenterology Physician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge in the field of gastroenterology.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and treat patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and liver, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disease.
- Perform endoscopic procedures and care for patients in the outpatient clinic and inpatient setting.
- Evaluate patients in outpatient clinics, perform inpatient consultations, and educate gastroenterology fellows, medical residents, and students.
- Participate in assigned duties within Medical Service and qualify for a potential academic appointment at Loma Linda University and University of California Riverside.
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- ABIM Board eligible/certified in Gastroenterology.
- Clinician educator who feels comfortable with luminal gastroenterologist as well as liver disease.

- Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.
- CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).
- Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm and on-call including nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
