Position Overview: The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician to fill the role of a Gastroenterologist. This position is crucial in providing exceptional healthcare services to our esteemed Veterans.
Facility Information: The VA Loma Linda Healthcare System is actively looking for a Board-Certified Staff Gastroenterologist. This role is vital in ensuring the health and well-being of our Veterans, who have bravely served our nation. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to engage in educational activities within the Section of Gastroenterology at Loma Linda University, contributing to the training of fellows, medical students, residents, and other healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities: The Gastroenterologist will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations.
- Diagnosing and managing gastrointestinal conditions.
- Performing endoscopic procedures with proficiency.
- Providing quality patient care in accordance with current gastroenterology standards.
- Engaging in educational responsibilities, including teaching and mentoring medical trainees.
- Participating in research and quality improvement initiatives, with an emphasis on identifying significant issues and developing effective solutions.
Work Schedule: The position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with no on-call requirements. Alternative work arrangements may be considered, including part-time opportunities.
