Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Specialist Advanced at Loma Linda University works under the supervision of the Chief Technologist of Nuclear Medicine. This role performs all imaging procedures offered in the Nuclear Medicine Department, maintains and performs defined quality control on all equipment used, and assumes responsibility for patient safety while providing high-quality techniques. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. The successful candidate will also perform other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

A successful completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program is required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate all equipment in the scanning areas and perform various tests with that equipment. They will also be able to teach students, instruct patients, communicate with physicians and co-workers, and use computer and software programs necessary to the position.

Knowledge and Skills:

The Nuclear Medicine Specialist Advanced must be able to read, write legibly, speak in English with professional quality, and use computer and software programs necessary to the position. They will also be able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment, relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others, and work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.

Licensures and Certifications:

A Basic Life Support certification is required. The Nuclear Medicine Specialist Advanced must also be certified and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine (N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), and State of California - Certified Technologist - Nuclear Medicine is required. ARRT Certified Technologist (CT) and State of California - Radiologic Technologist are preferred.
