Job Summary:

The Clinical Nutrition Specialist demonstrates expertise in conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments and reassessments for inpatient and outpatient populations. Collaborating with the healthcare team, this specialist implements evidence-based nutrition interventions and coordinates patient care. Providing specialized nutrition education to patients and family members, this role works closely with dietitians, dietetic technicians, and diet aides to enhance performance standards.

Key responsibilities include providing in-services and lectures to clinical staff, mentoring clinical dietitians, and participating in educating dietetic and medical students. This specialist also serves as a consultant for physicians and may be assigned to inpatient, outpatient, and/or clinic settings. Additionally, they may participate in out-patient group nutrition classes and fulfill appointments as referrals are received.

This role requires a Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field, with two years of clinical nutrition experience. One year of experience in Pediatrics is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of clinical nutrition, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work calmly and courteously under pressure.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or a related field
  • Two years of clinical nutrition experience
  • One year of experience in Pediatrics preferred
  • Certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD/RDN) required
  • CCS Paneling required within one year of hire date
