Position Overview: Under general supervision, the MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting a range of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures for diagnostic purposes, adhering to established protocols and guidelines. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of radiologic technology and MRI practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and advanced MRI procedures, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in MRI technology, providing assistance to fellow technicians as necessary.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of radiation safety principles and apply them in practice.
  • Prepare and position patients for MRI scans, following protocols to achieve optimal imaging results.
  • Administer contrast media in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Educate patients about the procedure, gather patient history, and relay pertinent information to the Radiologist.
  • Input complex data into the imaging system and review images for technical and quality assurance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MRI PACS systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology or MRI technology program.
  • Current registration as a Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by ARRT or ARMRIT.
  • Certification in venipuncture within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at the time of hire, with a commitment to obtain BART certification within six months.
  • Recent experience in a similar capacity or graduation from an accredited MRI technology program.
  • Possess essential skills, knowledge, and abilities for successful job performance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with radiological computerized systems and applications.
  • Thorough understanding of PACS and RIS systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least six months of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in a hospital setting.

Special Conditions:

  • Flexibility to work various hours and locations based on operational needs.
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Compensation Information:

Annual Full Pay Range: $142,402 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $68.20

Compensation factors include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
