Virtualization Systems Administrator for AvMC EITSS

Overview:

COLSA Corporation is in search of a skilled and dedicated Virtualization Systems Administrator to enhance our Virtualization and Cloud Platform initiatives within the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC) Enterprise Information Technology Support Services (EITSS) contract. The successful candidate will have proven expertise in VMware vSphere, vRealize Suite, ESXi, Windows Server, Linux, DoD STIGs, and networking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and sustain the VMware vSphere ecosystem, which includes vCenter, ESXi hosts, vSAN, and NSX-T.
  • Administer and set up components of the vRealize Suite, such as vRealize Operations Manager, vRealize Log Insight, and vRealize Life Cycle Manager.
  • Manage and configure VMware Cloud Director environments effectively.
  • Create and oversee virtual data centers while deploying virtual machines as needed.
  • Administer both Windows and Linux systems, focusing on the installation, configuration, and upkeep of applications and services relevant to the infrastructure.
  • Ensure adherence to DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) along with other security standards and protocols.
  • Monitor system performance and resolve issues promptly as they arise.
  • Conduct system backups and implement disaster recovery procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to fellow Project/System Administrators.
  • Engage in project planning and execution activities.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in administering VMware vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, ESXi, Windows Server, Linux, and DoD STIGs.
  • Experience in developing scripts for administrative tasks related to configuring ESXi and hosted Windows and Linux VMs.
  • Familiarity with DoD security requirements and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
  • Proficient in desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required; candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is highly desirable.
  • A self-motivated, results-oriented professional with exceptional collaboration skills is preferred.
