Job Title: Advanced Practice Professional (Nurse Practitioner) Interventional Pulmonology

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to join our Interventional Pulmonology team at the University of Michigan. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team, and contribute to the development of our pulmonary medicine program.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate care and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain and update daily/weekly procedural logs and patient lists
  • Participate in Thoracic Oncology Tumor Board and Multidisciplinary Airway Conference Meetings
  • Coordinate care with Interventional Pulmonology staff
  • Perform basic bronchoscopic and pleural procedures
  • Provide inpatient consultation and follow-up care
  • Present patients at multidisciplinary tumor board discussions
  • Pre-procedure history and physicals and obtaining procedural consents
  • Patient education and follow-up care post procedure
Requirements:
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
  • Current specialty certification to practice as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN)
  • Current DEA registration required
  • Current AHA-approved BLS, ACLS
  • Thoracic, Interventional Radiology or Interventional Pulmonology APP with a minimum 6-months experience in inpatient work
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of recent experience (within the last 5 years) as an APP
  • Experience managing patients with pulmonary conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to complete history and physical examinations, order appropriate diagnostic studies, synthesize information and make informed clinical decisions, develop appropriate care plans, and be responsive to patient and family preferences
  • Demonstrated excellent teaching abilities
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize assignments and manage a busy work environment
