Lead Advanced Practice Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team as a Lead Advanced Practice Professional in Hospital Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and dedicated professional to lead our hospitalist advanced practice team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Team Management: Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to hospitalist advanced practice professionals to promote professional growth and development.
- Recruitment and Orientation: Support the recruitment and orientation of new hospitalist APPs to ensure a smooth transition into the team.
- Schedule Management: Oversee the timely and equitable completion and distribution of hospitalist APP work schedules.
- Communication and Collaboration: Attend regular meetings with hospital leadership, division head, and practice manager to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Clinical Process Improvement: Collaborate with the division head and practice manager to design, implement, and monitor clinical processes that support the delivery of outstanding patient care.
- Liaison and Representation: Act as a liaison between hospitalist APP group, hospital leadership, and Trinity Health IHA Medical Group leadership to promote the value of the hospitalist APP program.
- Program Operations: Manage program operations in coordination with the site medical director, division head, and practice manager to ensure the hospitalist APP program is fully staffed and running smoothly.
- Performance Evaluation and Coaching: Conduct biannual provider performance evaluations, periodic coaching sessions, and improvement/teaching plans to maximize provider potential.
- Disciplinary Actions and Attendance Review: Conduct disciplinary actions and attendance reviews as needed, and provide feedback to APP staff.
- Student Scheduling and Coordination: Coordinate APP student schedules in collaboration with the practice manager.
- Quality Improvement and Patient Safety: Review patient complaints and adverse event reports, perform chart reviews as needed, and share findings with providers and IHA hospitalist leadership to ensure quality improvement and patient safety.
- Experience: Three years of clinical experience in the inpatient setting, with preferred prior experience in a leadership capacity.
- Certification: Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Licensure: Valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Michigan.
- Membership: Membership in the Society of Hospital Medicine is required.
