Position Overview:

This role is designed for part-time Roving Assistants who are available to work during school days, Monday through Friday. Flexibility is crucial as this position requires travel to various locations within the district.

  • Assistant Rovers will receive consistent assignments throughout the academic year, with a maximum of 5 hours of work per day.
  • Assignments are communicated via phone calls in the early morning hours.
  • Work shifts typically range from 2 to 5 hours daily, scheduled between morning and afternoon hours.
  • Optional summer work opportunities may be available, though not guaranteed.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Nutrition Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering nutritious and appealing meals that promote wellness among students. Your responsibilities will include food preparation and providing outstanding customer service. You will collaborate with team members across various kitchens, ensuring a dynamic work environment where no two days are alike.



Qualifications:

  • Ability to work efficiently while following both verbal and written instructions.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring a full range of motion.
  • Proficiency in receiving instructions in English, both over the phone and on-site.
  • Experience handling cash and making change during service.
  • Willingness to obtain a Multnomah County Food Handler's Certification prior to starting work.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with computerized cash registers.
  • Openness to travel to various schools within the district.
