Job Overview

Triumph Construction is a distinguished construction firm operating in the Bronx, New York, engaging with a diverse range of clients, including municipal and private organizations. Our projects span across the five Boroughs of New York City.

The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience collaborating with military or governmental organizations, particularly the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). This position is essential for supervising and managing all project-related activities to ensure compliance and precision. You will act as the primary liaison for the Government in all project-related matters, including contract adherence, work progress, project scheduling, financial considerations, and modifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee the complete construction process for specific projects, from obtaining permits to final inspections. Ensure projects are executed seamlessly, delivering outstanding results while upholding quality and safety standards.
  • Contract Management: Supervise and coordinate all facets of heavy civil construction contracts from inception to completion, focusing on revenue, safety, risk management, scheduling, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders, to guarantee that project milestones are met on schedule and within budget.
  • Effective Communication: Organize project meetings, facilitate clear communication, and address issues among team members.
  • Planning and Review: Develop and assess project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Procurement Coordination: Liaise with vendors and suppliers to acquire materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track construction progress, conduct regular site assessments, and provide accurate reports on project status, challenges, and recommended actions.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive project files, logs (including payments, permits, RFIs, change orders, and purchase orders), and drawings. Prepare cost-to-complete reports, labor reports, cost analyses, and budgets.
  • Field Oversight: Supervise field construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications. Maintain accurate records of work quantities performed by subcontractors and reconcile these with the Owner's representative.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends and construction methodologies, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of project management processes.
  • Adaptability: Adjust to changing job responsibilities to align with project and organizational needs.

Qualifications

  • Software Skills: Proficient in HCSS, Excel, P6, or Microsoft Project.
  • Pre-Construction Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in pre-construction planning and execution.
  • Certifications: Must possess one of the following: Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
  • Experience: Previous work experience with the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or a military/government entity in a related field is required.
  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong presentation capabilities.
  • Experience Level: A minimum of 15 years of project management experience is necessary.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
