Quality Assurance Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Director to join our team at William & Mary. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the authorization, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of transaction processing and controls in business systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform information control reviews to ensure system development standards, system security, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance are met.
- Prepare working papers to document findings and proposed next steps.
- Develop and maintain written reports and technical information for distribution to management.
- Provide consultation and advice to administrators, faculty, and staff on operational issues related to computerized information systems and general business operations.
- Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in business, finance, procurement, or auditing.
- Ability to create and analyze reports for non-compliance, irregularities, process issues, and provide proposed solutions/changes for future standards of practice.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and effectively resolve complicated issues.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively and build strong relationships with vendors and customers.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications, with strong Excel skills, and proven ability to learn and use new technology effectively.
- Strong project management skills and proven ability to coordinate all project phases.
- Working knowledge of Commonwealth of VA policies and procedures governing procurement and payables.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Knowledge of university and/or public auditing policies, standards, and procedures.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards governing all aspects of the utilization of computer systems.
This is a hybrid position, working remotely at least one day per week. Remote work eligibility is subject to approval and depends on the likelihood of the employee succeeding in a remote work arrangement and the supervisor's ability to manage remote workers.
