We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Director to join our team at William & Mary. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the authorization, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of transaction processing and controls in business systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform information control reviews to ensure system development standards, system security, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance are met.
  • Prepare working papers to document findings and proposed next steps.
  • Develop and maintain written reports and technical information for distribution to management.
  • Provide consultation and advice to administrators, faculty, and staff on operational issues related to computerized information systems and general business operations.
  • Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in business, finance, procurement, auditing.
  • Ability to create and analyze reports for non-compliance, irregularities, process issues, and provide proposed solutions/changes for future standards of practice.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and effectively resolve complicated issues.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively and build strong relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications with strong Excel skills and proven ability to learn and use new technology effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to coordinate all project phases.
  • Working knowledge of Commonwealth of VA policies and procedures governing procurement and payables.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of university and/or public auditing policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards governing all aspects of the utilization of computer systems.

This is a hybrid position, working remotely at least one day per week. The successful candidate will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including retirement, health insurance, and educational assistance.
