At Southwire Company, LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team. As a Product Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing commercial products and their associated manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design and draft engineering drawings of products using designing and simulation software, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and market standards.
  • Product Engineering: Develop fabrication drawings for sheet metal shop use, taking into account product materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Market Research: Generate design ideas based on customer interests, budgets, and market research, staying up-to-date with industry trends and competitor analysis.
  • Product Testing: Test products (prototypes) and adjust designs via simulation software, ensuring product quality and performance.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering field.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a product engineer, with a strong background in product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Solidworks, CAD, AutoCAD, CAM software, as well as familiarity with Electrical codes and wiring diagrams.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP programs such as SAP, and knowledge of ISO and engineering repository software.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management abilities, and the ability to work creatively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
