Reports To: Maintenance Control Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: The Supervisor of Maintenance Control is accountable to the Maintenance Control Manager and plays a crucial role in overseeing maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate aircraft maintenance activities to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company protocols.
  • Engage in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and complete necessary training to maintain compliance.
  • Manage the overall performance of the Maintenance Control Department.
  • Analyze processes and procedures to enhance information distribution efficiency.
  • Recruit and onboard personnel capable of thriving in a dynamic environment, demonstrating multitasking abilities and composure under pressure.
  • Ensure that all Maintenance Control personnel deliver technical support safely and promptly.
  • Collaborate with various departments to optimize response times and foster a cooperative work atmosphere.
  • Establish processes to provide real-time updates on aircraft status, including delays and maintenance items.
  • Supervise and train Maintenance Controllers and Supervisors, including managing staffing, shift assignments, and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare and present reports to department leaders to facilitate maintenance planning and aircraft status monitoring.
  • Develop and implement processes that align maintenance needs with other departments such as Planning, Line Maintenance, and Heavy Maintenance.
  • Lead the Daily Maintenance Meeting/Conference call.
  • Maintain necessary staffing, equipment, and facilities to support all Maintenance Control functions.
  • Work alongside the Director of Maintenance and Quality Control to uphold safety and maintenance standards.
  • Monitor out-of-service aircraft activities to ensure swift restoration to airworthy conditions.
  • Evaluate maintenance delays and systemic issues to identify root causes and enhance maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure adequate ground time for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Communicate maintenance operations status to executive management for effective corporate planning.
  • Act as the primary point of contact within the organization for all aircraft maintenance-related matters.
  • Provide real-time recovery support for out-of-service aircraft, collaborating with Technical Operations and Dispatch.
  • Ensure the quality of the Maintenance Control process and hold the authority to modify operational policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Technical Operations.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings.
  • In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, specifically Parts 91 and 121.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the maintenance of large aircraft within an air carrier environment.
  • Completion of all required initial and recurrent training to maintain qualification.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted passport for travel in and out of the United States.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Professional appearance and grooming standards.
  • Successful completion of a background check, including fingerprinting and drug testing.
  • Legal authorization to work in the country of employment.

Working Conditions:

  • Utilization of computer and office equipment.
  • Flexible work shifts may be required.

Physical Requirements:

This position necessitates light to medium physical effort, including occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds and frequent lifting of objects up to 20 pounds.
