Job Overview

Silver Airways is seeking a Maintenance Training Supervisor to design, update, and deliver training programs, manage the training division, ensure compliance with regulatory documentation, and coordinate training schedules. This position collaborates with various departments, managers, and personnel across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Educate maintenance staff and other employees on topics mandated by FAR 121 Regulations.
  • Create training modules through classroom instruction, computer-based training (CBT), and on-the-job training (OJT) within a learning management system (LMS).
  • Supervise the development and implementation of departmental curricula, revising and enhancing course content as necessary.
  • Manage training records, documentation, and adherence to FARs and training manual standards.
  • Monitor and coordinate the scheduling of all mandatory training sessions, including 'train the trainer' programs and onboarding of new instructors.
  • Provide a monthly report on upcoming training activities to the VP of Maintenance and Director of Quality.
  • Ensure compliance with training manual standards and make revisions as needed.
  • Adhere to FAR 121 training mandates and industry benchmarks.
  • Conduct in-house training sessions such as Initial Indoc, RII, Recurrent, Aircraft Systems, and other necessary training to comply with FAA, NTSB, OSHA, and TSA regulations.
  • Instruct maintenance and other personnel on subjects assigned by the VP of Maintenance and/or Director of Quality.
  • Deliver departmental training on new equipment, tools, and aircraft as required.
  • Assist in preparation for FAA audits by ensuring all documentation is accurate and current.
  • Support the Director of Quality with additional tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Advise management on necessary corrections related to the Training Manual, CBT, and SOP issues.
  • Conduct research projects as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of Silver Airways/Seaborne Operations Specifications, Standard Operating Procedures, and FAR Parts 121, 145, 91, and 65.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Maintenance Training Manual, SOPs, and Maintenance Training Requirements.
  • In-depth familiarity with FAR 121 regulations.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Solid understanding of aviation operations and training environments.
  • Expertise in managing training departments, staffing, and training obligations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in training roles within the aviation industry or airline sector.
  • Successful completion of required instructor training as outlined in the company training manual.
  • Experience as an instructor.
  • A&P certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with a 14CFR Part 121 or 135 air carrier, or military aviation background.
  • Two years of management experience as a Maintenance Training Supervisor, Director of Maintenance, Director of Quality, Quality Manager, or equivalent military position.
  • Experience in developing training programs or writing course materials.
  • Prior interaction with the FAA.
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field, or four years of equivalent aviation experience.

Work Environment:

Work is conducted in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and/or standing.

Occasional travel may be required to fulfill the needs of the training division.

Physical Requirements:

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
