The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor position is essential for overseeing maintenance operations and reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively ensure the health and safety of all employees, striving for top-tier safety performance.
  • Guarantee compliance with all regulations through effective organizational and procedural measures, including the implementation of corporate guidelines, capability assessments, training, and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Oversee routine and non-routine inspections and repairs of mechanical equipment across all major plant systems and mobile machinery.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the allocation of mechanical maintenance resources and budget to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Plant Manager and Process Engineer to lead the maintenance function by:
    • Developing a comprehensive long-term strategy for the Maintenance Department.
    • Reviewing and approving technical specifications and bid documents.
    • Coordinating plant projects and scheduled shutdowns.
    • Identifying and implementing professional development opportunities for maintenance personnel.
    • Providing technical support to production, process, and maintenance teams.
    • Acting as a liaison with the corporate engineering group regarding maintenance activities.
    • Managing the plant's maintenance on-call program to ensure ongoing support across all shifts, including evaluating and directing maintenance incidents during off-hours.

Essential Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance principles and technologies.
  • Previous experience in managing mechanical and electrical maintenance teams.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing maintenance.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to coordinate tasks and ensure project completion.
  • Experience in evaluating and presenting Return on Investment analyses.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices.
  • Ability to engage and educate employees on basic mechanical and electrical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and Excel.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Familiarity with cement manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with scheduling and payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of medium voltage systems up to 4,160V is advantageous.
