Sales Director Job Description

At Lakeview Farms, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sales Director to drive profitable sales growth in their region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales leadership and a deep understanding of the food industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Manage and grow sales region, including hiring and developing high-performance sales brokers.
  • Anticipate customer needs by constant review of market conditions and competitive activity.
  • Deliver appropriate price results to maintain gross profit, realize margin improvements, and reach targeted sales growth.
  • Manage customer portfolio, develop, and execute upon account strategies in the territory.
  • Actively collaborate with the sales team and cross-functioning teams to create and implement sales strategy.
  • Anticipate market trends, competitive activities, and customer strategy to identify and seize opportunities and identify risks.
  • Develop key connections at strategic accounts to create strong, long-term, and loyal relationships.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Food Science with a minimum of 5 years of sales experience in the food industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in perishable products.
  • Direct responsibility in sales in traditional grocery with category management and trade funds account level management experience.
  • Hands-on direct and brokered experience, as well as managing and selling national accounts.
  • Proven success in a high-growth company and experience in developing sales plans in detail tied to company targeted objectives.
  • Proven experience handling major negotiations with key customers.
  • IRI/AC Nielsen data experience.
  • Fact-based selling experience.
  • Recognized and respected by customers and solid experience providing customer-centric solutions.
  • Strong sales leadership and managerial skills.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and develop selling strategies from information.
  • Customer presentation development skills.
  • Strong computer application skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
