Salary: $65,000 to $70,000 annually

We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned Senior Accounting Specialist to become a vital part of our energetic team. In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in managing the organization’s financial documentation, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations, and generating financial reports. Your proficiency in accounting principles will be essential for accurately overseeing our financial transactions with integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and verify the accuracy of financial records in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Establish and uphold internal control measures to protect company assets.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting tasks, including bank and credit card reconciliations and financial report reviews.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements to suggest efficiency enhancements and cost-saving measures.
  • Execute journal entries and manage general ledger operations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to prepare budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis and regularly prepare financial reports for management review.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring accurate wage calculations, regulatory compliance, and timely tax withholdings.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and controls.
  • Manage inventory accounting and maintain asset and depreciation records.
  • Prepare and present financial status reports for departmental review.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience as an Accountant or in a comparable role.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and databases (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures, including accounts receivable and payable.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Aptitude for meeting tight deadlines.

Typical Physical Demands: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. The role requires the ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, copiers, and calculators. The ability to lift and carry items, such as boxes of paper weighing up to 15 lbs, is also necessary.

Typical Working Conditions: The majority of work is conducted in an office setting.
