Co-op Program DetailsAs a Co-op with Ferguson Construction, you will immerse yourself in hands-on experiences across different trades within the industry. Mentorship is a vital component of our program, ensuring that you receive appropriate guidance and training on-site. This opportunity is designed to foster your career development within the construction sector.
Field co-ops will collaborate closely with Crew Leaders and Supervisors, gaining insights into trade techniques and understanding the integral role each trade plays in project completion. Office co-ops will work alongside Project Managers, learning about real-time project management, including:
- Process importance
- Schedule sequencing
- Daily project management
Additionally, co-ops will engage in site visits and meetings with subcontractors, enhancing their understanding of collaboration among various trades. Participation in owner meetings will provide valuable experience in client communication and expectation management.
Project Management ToolsCo-ops will utilize Ferguson's construction management software, assisting Project Managers with:
- Submittals
- Requests for information
- Closeout documentation
- Operation and Maintenance manuals
- Punch lists
- Meeting minutes
By the conclusion of the co-op experience, participants will have gained a comprehensive understanding of project management and the essential tools required for successful project execution.
QualificationsTo qualify for this position, applicants must be enrolled in a college program majoring in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Business with a focus on Construction.
