Position Summary
As a Co-op with Ferguson Construction Company, you will immerse yourself in hands-on learning across various skilled trades. Mentorship is a vital component of our co-op program, ensuring that you receive the necessary guidance and training on-site. This program is designed to help you develop your career within our organization.
Field co-ops will collaborate closely with Crew Leaders and Supervisors, gaining insights into trade techniques and understanding how each trade contributes to project completion. Office co-ops will work alongside Project Managers, learning the intricacies of project management in real-time. This role will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of processes, scheduling, and daily project management, all of which are crucial for project success.
Co-ops will also participate in site visits and meetings with subcontractors, enhancing their understanding of trade collaborations. Attendance at owner meetings will further develop your skills in client communication and expectation management.
Additionally, co-ops will utilize Ferguson's construction management software, assisting Project Managers with various tasks including submittals, requests for information, closeout documents, operation and maintenance manuals, punch lists, and meeting minutes. By the conclusion of your co-op experience, you will have gained valuable knowledge about project management and the tools essential for successful project completion.
Qualifications
This co-op position is designed for students currently enrolled in a college program, majoring in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Business with a concentration in Construction.
