We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Physician Assistant to join our interdisciplinary team at the Bipolar Disorder Center at The University of Texas at Austin. As an Advanced Practice Provider, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive assessment and treatment plans for adult patients with bipolar disorder.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to formulate and implement comprehensive assessment and treatment plans for patients with bipolar disorder.
- Provide psychiatric care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients and family members.
- Work closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care.
- Participate in clinical trials investigating new psychiatric treatments and other research projects.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and providing psychotherapy.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between visits, including triaging patient calls and emails.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to make appropriate referrals and coordinate care.
- Active RN and APNP license in the State of Texas, in good standing.
- Active board certification as a NP.
- At least one year of experience in the inpatient and outpatient care of bipolar disorder and related disorders.
- Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Three or more years of experience in a psychiatric practice or other related facility.
- Experience with large research projects and clinical trials.
- Working knowledge of and/or experience with Value-Based Healthcare Delivery models.
- Experience delivering care through a multidisciplinary team.
