As a culinary leader with STK Washington DC, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of exquisite dishes in a high-energy dining environment. With an estimated salary range of $100,000 to over $140,000 per year, this position offers a competitive compensation package.

About This RoleThis Executive Chef role serves as the leader of all things culinary, emphasizing table touching, marketing initiatives, and media appearances. Key responsibilities include cost controls related to payroll, food costs, production, and inventory.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute and carry out requests and orders without question.
- Ability to execute all positions on the line and assist line staff when needed.
- Oversee production of all menu items.
- Maintain a complete understanding of work safety and emergency procedures.
- Expedite orders correctly and efficiently to ensure smooth kitchen flow.
- Utilize standard recipe cards and plating guides effectively.
- Ensure all reach-ins and walk-ins are locked.
- Collaborate with the Events Department to keep the menu updated with current restaurant trends.
- Perform line checks, including temperature checks of refrigeration units, rotation and dating of foods, proper prep(taste), freshness, and specials completed for night's service.
- Check reservations and V.I.P.S. for the night's service, communicate, and show all specials to servers at daily staff meeting.
- Create and execute daily specials.
- Implement closing duties for runners, stewards, line/pantry cooks, ensuring all duties are being completed.
- Ensure all foods meet quality and standards, all specials align with seasons and trends, coach and train staff to THE ONE GROUP brand of food.
- Possess good math and English skills for calculating, communicating, writing requisitions, completing food inventories, and retrieving information as needed.
- Work closely with staff to ensure their respective jobs are executed as per company guidelines.
- Maintain A+ standards for kitchen cleanliness and follow Health Department Guidelines for proper food handling from start to finish.
- Attend weekly management meetings and corporate meetings, hold monthly mandatory kitchen meetings, and address issues that arise.
- Coordinate ordering of items with purchaser on a daily basis.
- Create weekly employee schedule.
- Prevent breakage by monitoring kitchen crew.
- Inspire and motivate kitchen staff.
