About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Recreational Therapist to join our team at LittleStar ABA Therapy. As a key member of our team, you will provide services to families on the Medicaid Waiver in surrounding areas, working with children, teens, and young adults affected by autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough recreational therapy assessments to determine individualized goals for each client.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on assessment results, ensuring a comprehensive approach to therapy.
  • Track progress and report on quarterly reports, providing valuable insights to the treatment team.
  • Implement strategies to address high-risk areas, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for clients.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Complete and submit client billing and additional paperwork in a timely manner, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Communicate effectively with families, clients, and the Waiver Services Director, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Hold a minimum bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Recreational Therapy.
  • Be certified as a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).
  • Possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification annually.
  • Have a clear criminal record, meeting Medicaid Waiver regulation requirements.
  • Experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Developmental Disabilities (ID/DD).
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Exhibit good judgment and creative thinking skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Work Environment

This position is community-based, with sessions taking place in clients' homes or community-based facilities. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a variety of settings, adapting to the needs of each client.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include regular talking and hearing, frequent standing, walking, and climbing stairs. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is also required. Reasonable accommodations can be provided to assist or enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
