ROLE SUMMARY:
The Activity Therapist is responsible for evaluating the unique needs of each patient as part of a collaborative treatment team. This role emphasizes enhancing the mental wellness and overall wellbeing of patients through engaging therapeutic and recreational activities. The therapist will work closely with the clinical team to incorporate recreational and activity-based interventions into individualized treatment plans, focusing on education, skill development, and active participation in recovery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine patient needs and preferences.
- Design and implement recreational and therapeutic activities aimed at promoting recovery and resilience.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care approaches.
- Facilitate programs that encourage social interaction, creativity, and physical engagement.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline is required. A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Experience:
Preferred candidates will have a minimum of three years of clinical experience in a psychiatric environment, including at least one year of applying activity therapy techniques.
