Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Recreational Therapist - Patient Engagement Specialist to join our team at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation - West. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing therapeutic recreation programs that promote patient engagement, socialization, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized recreation therapy plans to meet the unique needs of patients with diverse medical conditions, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation, and neurological disorders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of recreation therapy services into patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on community resources, leisure activities, and social skills to promote successful rehabilitation outcomes.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and preferences, and develop targeted recreation therapy interventions to address these needs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient progress, including recreation therapy plans, progress notes, and outcome measures.
- Recreation Therapist Certified (RTC) certification
- Baccalaureate degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field
- Experience in acute rehabilitation settings preferred
