Job Title: Civil Rights Training Specialist

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a highly qualified Civil Rights Training Specialist to join our Institutional Equity and Compliance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing training and education to the campus community on Title IX and other topics related to equal opportunity and nondiscrimination.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver training programs for students, faculty, and staff on Title IX and other related topics.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to identify training needs and develop targeted programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to campus units on Title IX and other equal opportunity issues.
  • Develop and maintain a database of referral resources and community services.
  • Participate in meetings and committees as a member of the Institutional Equity and Compliance team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a closely related field, plus 3 years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of cultural and social causes of sexual and other gender-based violence.
  • Deep understanding of cultural, ethnic, racial, religious, sexual, and gender diversity.
  • Demonstrated experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work as a team member to build stronger working relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and ability to work under deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Four years of experience in college sexual misconduct, assault intervention, and/or advocacy.
  • Work experience in an academic setting, ideally in counseling, social work, student affairs counseling, or related field.
  • Familiarity with UNL-specific software programs, including PeopleSoft and Maxient.
