Job Overview

Kenl-Inn is seeking a highly skilled Dog Trainer to join our team. As a Dog Trainer, you will be responsible for executing and overseeing daily pet dog training services, including training dogs, puppy potty and crate training, and daycare dog drills training sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct dog/client training, including group classes, daycare training, and private sessions, and document training plans for each pet and progress toward training goals.
  2. Respond to client inquiries on training programs and sell training services for pets and clients.
  3. Provide one-on-one training as requested for boarding, daycare, and grooming dogs in problem areas, such as leash pulling, listening, and jumping.
  4. Continue education on current issues and theory in dog behavior, training techniques, human learning theory, and dog daycare.
  5. Assist as needed in teaching Body Language courses to Pet Care associates.
  6. Puppy Training: Coordinate schedules for puppies in potty/crate training programs, ensure daily schedules are followed for the age of the puppy, and complete paperwork properly.
  7. Work with Pet Care Counselors to identify concerns or issues and provide daily/weekly updates with parents as needed to ensure appropriate progress of puppies through the program.
Requirements
  1. High school graduate, college preferred, and/or pet training certification.
  2. 1-3 years of pet care or training experience.
  3. Excellent written and communication skills, as well as a team player.
  4. Self-motivated independent worker experience.
  5. Sales and service experience.
  6. Professional demeanor and appearance.
  7. Proven leadership and training skills.
  8. Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  9. Good organizational and planning skills.
  10. Ability to work weekdays and weekends, as business warrants.
