Veterinary Surgery Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Surgery Technician to join our team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our board-certified surgeons in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Administer medication and manage/monitor patients during surgical procedures, including pre and post-op care and anesthesia recovery.
- Facilitate patient care of outpatient appointments for surgeons, including consultations and rechecks.
- Perform IV, IM, and SubQ injections, IV catheter placements, and advanced veterinary technician skills, such as arterial catheter placement, epidural administration, and splint placements.
- Perform radiographs and assist with all types of surgery, anesthesia, and other procedures as needed.
- Participate in surgery team responsibilities, including setting up and turning over Operating Rooms, preparing exam rooms and instruments, and completing daily safety and cleaning duties.
- Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.
- Utilize Ezyvet and Smartflow for documentation of patient care.
- Communicate with clients, including financial estimates and collecting payment.
- Interface with and assist other departments within the hospital as needed.
- Four years' work experience as a Veterinary Technician, with two years including surgery/anesthesia.
- Registered in the state of Colorado as a Veterinary Technician or able to become registered upon hire.
- Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology.
- Strong ability to multitask and anticipate needs.
- Ability to think quickly and react in stressful situations.
- Excellent patient care standards and advanced technical skills.
- Ability to calculate medication dosages accurately.
- Excellent communication.
- Handles stress well and keeps a positive attitude.
