Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to oversee our spray operations and ensure the highest quality finishes on our retail displays, fixtures, and pop-ups. As a key member of our team at Harlequin Design New York Inc, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the sprayshop, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Manage the sprayshop team, oversee the preparation, priming, sanding, and finishing processes, and ensure surfaces are properly treated and finished.
  • Coatings Expertise: Apply polyurethane paints and other finishes to MDF and various materials used in retail displays and pop-ups, maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate spray equipment to ensure optimal performance and consistent results.
  • Team Development: Supervise and train a team of spray technicians, providing guidance and support to achieve the best results.
  • Quality Control: Monitor quality control throughout the spraying process, making adjustments as needed to ensure the final product meets company standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to understand project requirements and ensure finishes align with the overall vision.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized sprayshop, adhering to all health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Industry Knowledge: Keep up to date with industry trends, new products, and techniques to continuously improve the quality of our finishes.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as an Automotive Sprayer or in a similar role, with a strong background in spraying polyurethane paints.
  • Skills: In-depth knowledge of spray equipment, techniques, and finishing processes, strong attention to detail, and excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret design specifications and technical drawings, strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
