Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist 1 to join our team at M.C. Dean, Inc. This role will involve managing physical security system support, analyzing system performance, and resolving complex system issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage physical security system support to meet service level agreements
  • Analyze physical security system performance and recommend improvements
  • Resolve complex system issues for physical security systems and networks
  • Provide Tier 3 support to the system administration team
  • Program and integrate entire systems at the global level

  • Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes

  • Conduct in-depth research and evaluate the research of Technical Specialists to evaluate existing and future systems
  • Perform and manage PITCOs
  • Provide on-site system support post-deployment
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Understand SOP and SOW documentation
  • Ensure test lab equipment is maintained
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations
  • Ensure availability of remote Pitco and remote access
  • Interface with the engineering team to ensure design efficiency
  • Interface with internal and external customers
  • Provide advanced-level database support
  • Conduct research and development of entire systems and analyze all interoperability and constructability scenarios
  • Delegate tasks and provide support to Level I and II Electronics Technical Specialists
  • Use 60% or 90% designs to develop and build out PITCO
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and statements of work (SOW)
  • Ensure PITCO build-outs adhere to statements of work (SOW)
  • Coordinate with field personnel and/or the engineering team to discuss any potential installation issues
  • Answer support calls to help field personnel and system administrators with any installation issues encountered on the job site
  • Document support calls in the internal support systems (IMMS); ensure all tickets are addressed and closed
  • Conduct research and development on new system manufacturers (i.e., access control, intrusion detection, and closed-circuit television systems)
Requirements
  • Requires 6 years of experience with installation, troubleshooting, and/or testing of electronic security systems with a high school diploma or GED
  • Requires substantial travel to project sites as required by customer and program manager to meet project deliverables
  • Proficient with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tools
Qualifications/Preferred Experience
  • Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security systems and applications like CCURE (Software House), Genetec, Lenel, Milestone, HID, Axis, 2N, Geutebruck, and/or other
  • Working knowledge and/or certification for general-purpose operating systems and virtualization platforms (Windows, Windows Server, Linux, VMware, CentOS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Familiarity with physical security designs, standard operation procedures, and security operations
  • Working knowledge and/or certification with communications and network protocols and services, including TCP/IP, RS232, RS485, networking knowledge (TCP, UDP, RTP, RTSP, and others)
  • Certification in Lenel OnGuard and Bosch Video Management System preferred
  • Access Control certification CCURE 9000 Access Control System, Lenel, or others
  • Certification in DVTel/Flir Digital Video Systems, Genetec, Milestone VMS, Axis, or others
  • Experience and knowledge of networks, network equipment, and administration
  • Experience and knowledge of virtualization and cloud environments
  • CCNA, CompTIA A, CompTIA Network certifications or similar
  • Experience and skills in electronic security systems, databases, networking, and troubleshooting
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Possess excellent organizational and file management skills and the ability to plan and execute administrative work with little supervision
