Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our team at Mount Diablo Unified School District. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for performing skilled work in the repair and servicing of electronic, communications, and lighting equipment in district schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble, install, repair, and service equipment such as radios, television receivers, and antennas, public address systems, tape recorders, motion picture projectors, and audiovisual training equipment.
  • Repair and adjust master clock and fire alarm systems.
  • Repair parts and recorders as needed.
  • Design parts and reorder as needed.
  • Set up and operate loudspeaker and lighting systems at special events.
  • Assist in general electrical maintenance work and installation of wiring systems.
  • Test electronic equipment.
  • May train helpers and assistants.
Requirements
  • A combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of formal training in general electronics work.
  • Three years of experience in electronic maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and methods of repairing electronic communications equipment.
  • Knowledge of the construction, assembly, repair, and operation of radio and television receivers.
  • Skills in maintaining and establishing effective working relationships with others.
  • Skills in keeping records and preparing reports.
  • Ability to diagnose defects in audiovisual equipment operation and to repair the equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to instruct and supervise helpers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A valid California driver's license.
