Job Summary

The Central Processing Coordinator is a critical role within our healthcare team, responsible for coordinating the indirect patient care provided by the central processing staff. This includes ensuring the supplies, instruments, and equipment needed for patient care are available and properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the reprocessing of supplies, instruments, and equipment for use in patient care
  • Manage inventory and ensure proper storage and handling of supplies
  • Develop and implement processes to improve efficiency and quality of central processing operations
  • Collaborate with patient care units to ensure timely delivery of supplies and equipment
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues
Requirements
  • Post-high school training and/or specialized education in central processing or a related field
  • Minimum three years' experience in central processing or a related field, including knowledge of surgical instruments, supplies, decontamination, and sterilization techniques
  • Previous leadership experience preferred
  • Central Processing Specialty Certification
