Job Description

Central Care Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive professional neonatal care to critically ill neonatal patients in the NICU.
  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals.
  • Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Perform critical care duties, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-specific nursing care across all ages.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
  • Perform physical exams and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Direct and supervise care provided by other healthcare professionals.
  • Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • At least one (1) year of qualifying experience in the specialty is required.
  • Shall have and maintain a current, valid, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) in any U.S. jurisdiction within the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands as required in the TO.
  • A thorough knowledge of electronic fetal/uterine monitoring (placement, maintenance, and interpretation) is required.
  • BLS Certification with AHA is preferred.
  • ACLS Certification is preferred.
Work Schedule

Normal duty hours for the positions shall be 12 hours shifts, Monday thru Sunday to include weekends and Holidays. The HCWs shall record the time worked and report time in accordance with MTF policy. Federal Holidays are considered work days.
