About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our PHP and IOP facility at Akron House Recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine the level of care needed for individuals seeking treatment under Ohio Medicaid.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results, ensuring alignment with Ohio Medicaid guidelines and regulations.
  • Provide evidence-based counseling services, including individual and group therapy sessions, to help clients address their substance abuse issues.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including medical professionals, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care for clients.
  • Monitor and document clients' progress throughout the treatment process, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Educate clients about addiction, recovery, and relapse prevention strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with Ohio Medicaid and facility policies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance counseling skills and stay updated on the latest developments in the field of addiction treatment.
Requirements
  • Valid and active Ohio Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor licensure (LICDC).
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in addiction treatment.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based counseling techniques and therapeutic approaches for substance abuse.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with clients and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to assess and diagnose substance use disorders and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate and confidential client records.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Willingness to adhere to professional ethical standards and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
