Job Overview

The Facilities Operations Supervisor is tasked with ensuring the continuous operation of plant utilities, including boilers, air compressors, and fire safety systems. This role is crucial for maintaining dependable systems, supporting preventive maintenance initiatives, and enhancing the skill set of the Facilities Technician team. Additionally, the supervisor will oversee compliance with environmental regulations and maintain relationships with relevant agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the reliability of plant utilities and shared services.
  • Maintain necessary permits and foster relationships with regulatory bodies and utility providers.
  • Engage in daily reliability meetings to discuss issues and action plans related to utility systems.
  • Facilitate the development of the facilities team through education and coaching, aiming to cultivate multi-skilled technicians.
  • Manage utility cost analysis and improvement strategies at the plant level.
  • Utilize maintenance resources and external contractors to prioritize mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Contribute to the Progressive Maintenance (PM) pillar team and oversee PM capabilities for facilities.
  • Plan maintenance and spare parts strategies using Oracle eAM.
  • Oversee the operation of the plant's wastewater treatment facility.
  • Lead and support facility-related projects, including capital project development and execution.
  • Promote sustainability efforts, focusing on landfill diversion, water conservation, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Maintain technical documentation for facilities and ensure the testing of fire control systems.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the plant's insurance provider.
  • Oversee Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) initiatives.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities systems.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
  • Knowledge of environmental management, including air emission reporting and spill containment.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, particularly large chilled water systems.
  • Familiarity with water chemical treatment and predictive technologies.
  • Technical knowledge of boilers, compressors, HVAC, electrical distribution, and fire systems.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Oracle Enterprise Asset Management (eAM).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
